biography
Dr. Marriyam Jawad, MD, is a compassionate physician, board certified in Internal Medicine with a specialization in Geriatric Medicine. A proud Texan, Dr. Jawad's journey in medicine began in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she graduated from Nacogdoches High School. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Stephen F. Austin State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
Dr. Jawad then attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she developed a strong foundation in medical knowledge and patient care. Following medical school, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Her passion for geriatric care led her to further specialize through a fellowship at Jefferson Abington Hospital in Geriatric Medicine.
From a young age, Dr. Jawad has been deeply committed to caring for the elderly, having volunteering in nursing home settings since she was 12 years old. This life long dedication to the well-being of the elderly population is evident in her compassionate approach to patient care. To stay up to date in her field, Dr. Jawad is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She is also a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Geriatrics Society, the American Medical Association and the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.
Dr. Jawad is a devoted mother to two children, both born in San Antonio. After completing her training, she and her family returned to Texas, in Kingwood, where she hopes to continue to serve her community with the same compassion and dedication that has defined her career.
